Reading Susan Scott’s Study of a Fenland Village is a great place to start discovering the history of Christchurch.
After that we recommend exploring the Interactive Map.
The Timeline provides a history of key events in the village and surrounding area.
The 1999 Village Appraisal has been added – note that it’s just an image scene currently, a transcribed version will be added in the near future.
This website costs money to build and operate and donations to help with this cost are always welcome.

This project was a labour of love to get started, but even for a small village, the wealth of history is too much for just me alone! So we need help to build and keep this resource active – there are numerous ways you can help:
- Do you have knowledge and/or materials that could be added?
- Can you provide records of Living History? Or help people record theirs?
- Can you help with guided research?
- Can you help provide written summaries for the individual pages to make them easier/better to read?
